In Schaefer's Shane, Shane's deep but different relationships with each member of the Starretts family leads him to a moment of peace and then a return to his original lifestyle.

Shane Observation

Shane teaches us what it means to truly be a man and what elements make a hero in someones life. It shows us how your past can only hurt you if you let it, but can also shape you into becoming a better person for the future. Shane represents a role model and someone that is looked up to. He is able to achieve this role model figure by truly leaning from mistakes he has made in his past.
